Still pretty cool, you could watch what its like to be munched in a hole in real time! (also george bitrate is a userdefined variable, 1080p industry standard is 40mbps although it can be taken as low as 5 or so. uncompressed 1080p would be running at several times that =P)

Why would they not stream in HD when the wifi module is fast enough? They've only just announced it though which might be why the full specs aren't there, but I doubt they'd want non HD from the HDHero (the clue is in the name). Ralex, you're assuming there's no compression of the data, as I've said, the gopro requires 12Mbps for 1080p with sound

Seeing as 1080p (the highest resolution) would require a 40mbps broadcast capacity it seems unlikely, although it is still do-able. Certainly the lower resolutions can be viewed remotely. 720p would certainly be viewable remotely as it only requires 15mbps max, and thats HD.

The one i linked is apparently a wifi hotspot itself, so u connect ur device straight to it. Seems pretty cool though the price isnt out yet, theres just some waiting list thingi

they can only stream live if theyre connected to wifi, the hero 2 can already strem live but its a bit of a hack and some rc hardware to do it....but with the new wifi bac pac apparently u should be ablre to hack it to stream live while keeping the camera waterproof

It should say what you need to do. That is that on your latitude account you need to give it a location to work with, either using your smartphone or a desktop location.

Found you just means it can find your location, you still need to upload it for it to show on the map.
