Beginner's Polo Tournament 2010

Saturday 30th October (1300-2000)

Bath Canoe Club Members Singup

This tournament is a fantastic opportunity for people new to kayaking this year to try canoe polo. All players will have a similar level of skill, which will allow some competitive matches.

Information
  • Each team will get to play 3 games each, with the possibility of more games if they progress.
  • There are spaces for 12 teams, so each University is limited to one team in open & ladies to begin with.
  • Max 10 players on a squad, 8 players on the water per game.
  • If you want to enter another team, the extra team will go on a waiting list for any spare places.
  • If more than 12 team entries are received, the places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
  • Closing date for entries is OCTOBER 15th 2010.

Team Guidelines
  • A beginner is defined as someone who has been paddling less than one year and has not played in a previous tournament.
  • Only one experienced player to be on the water at any one time in the role of “Game-maker” (more than one experienced player allowed per squad). This player is unable to score goals or goal keep.

Referees
  • Each team will provide one referee for the game following their own.
  • There should be at least one experienced/confident referee per team, although this will be a good opportunity for new referees to practise.
